
Volcanic activity and black sand beaches at the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are a spanish archipelago located just off the southern coast of Morocco. The archipelago's beaches, climate and natural attractions make it a major tourist destination with over 12 million visitors each year. But with its vulcanoes, prehistoric sites, lunar landscapes, sahara-style dunes and authentic villages, there's another world beyond the Canaries seafront resorts. In the winter of 2007 Max and I visited Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. We arranged a car
